The Sand Viper JW4 SV is a full-size 2011-platform, single-action-only pistol chambered in 9mm Luger with a 5 in barrel. It is marked Taran Tactical Innovations, Simi Valley, CA, and the slide bears Sand Viper engraving alongside the factory model marking JW4 SV. The pistol is finished in bronze on both frame and slide.
This is an optics-only configuration with no iron sights. The slide is optic cut for a direct-mounted Trijicon SRO, and this example includes the SRO2 with a 2.5 MOA red dot installed. The sight picture is red dot only.
The tri-top slide features forward serrations, lightening windows, and a top port. These features, combined with the bronze finish, give the pistol a distinctive, purpose-built presentation.
The 2011 frame uses a textured polymer double-stack grip module and incorporates an integral left-side thumb-rest shelf and a flared magazine well funnel. Controls include an extended, checkered magazine release; a flat, skeletonized trigger with lightening holes; thumb safety and grip safety; and a skeletonized ring hammer. Capacity is listed at 26+1, and this pistol includes two 20-round magazines and one 26-round magazine, with magazine bodies showing witness holes to 20 and some marked 'CHECK-MATE 9/38'.
