The receiver top is drilled and tapped with plug screws. Marked and made in North Haven, Connecticut, it is in good overall condition with an excellent bore.

The 18.5" steel barrel is roll-marked with its chambering and choke: "Chambered for 2 3/4 and 3 in. shells – 12 GA – 18 1/2 in. Cylinder Bore." This short cylinder bore setup supports a wide range of 12 gauge loads and patterns without constriction.
The receiver is aluminum alloy with a black finish and right-side ejection port. The top is drilled and tapped and fitted with plug screws from the factory. A standard-length 5-shot magazine tube (capacity 4+1) is equipped with a front sling swivel stud.
Controls and furniture are straightforward and robust, including Mossberg's top-tang safety, a fixed brass bead front sight, a black synthetic pistol grip (pistol-grip-only configuration), and a black synthetic ribbed forend.
Barrel markings read: "Mossberg – Made in USA – North Haven, Conn. – 500A – 12 GA," underscoring its U.S. manufacture and model lineage. The bore condition is excellent, offering a clean, mirror finish.
