The EMP LW Compact blends a compact 1911 platform with a 3-inch bushingless bull barrel, delivering the familiar single-action-only operation in a scaled format. The left-side manual thumb safety and beavertail grip safety with raised memory pad provide 1911-style control and engagement.
Construction is two-tone, pairing a matte stainless slide with a black lightweight aluminum alloy frame. The slide wears rear cocking serrations, while the frame keeps lines clean with no accessory rail. The skeletonized Commander-style hammer and three-hole trigger complete the EMP’s compact 1911 feature set.
Sight cuts are dovetailed front and rear, and the pistol is fitted with checkered hardwood grips featuring a laser-etched Springfield Armory cross-cannon logo.
Factory markings include "EMP CAL 9mm" on the slide, "S.A. 9MM" on the barrel hood, "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" on the slide, and "SPRINGFIELD INC GENESEO IL USA" on the frame. The magazines are marked "EMP 9MM," and the box end label reads "1911 EMP LW COMPACT SS CA 9MM" and matches the pistol. Made in the USA.
