The 856 Concealed Hammer (CH) series combines a small-frame, six-shot .38 Special with a 2-inch barrel and a double-action-only system. Its concealed hammer design supports a snag-resistant draw, while the fluted cylinder and compact profile keep it streamlined.
The revolver features fixed sights with a serrated ramp front and an integral rear groove. A checkered, push-forward cylinder release and a knurled-tip ejector rod provide positive control. A partial underlug with a longitudinal slot complements the snub configuration.
It is finished matte black across the frame, cylinder, and receiver. Black rubber finger-grooved grips wear Taurus logos, with the left panel marked VIRIDIAN, and a Viridian red laser is installed to enhance aiming capability.
Markings include the Taurus bull logo on the frame; ".38 SPL" barrel roll mark on the left side; the model "856" stamped on the right side of the frame above the trigger guard; and proof/manufacturer stamps: "Taurus Int’l Mfg., Bainbridge, GA," "Taurus Armas," and "Made in Brazil." The interior crane is stamped "816." Manufacturer part number is 2-856021CH.
