The CSX E-Series configuration combines a compact 9mm platform with a true single-action, hammer-fired system. It features a single-action trigger with an integral safety tab, revised for a lighter, crisper break with an improved reset, plus an ambidextrous manual thumb safety, a firing pin block, and a trigger safety tab.
The stainless steel slide and 3.1 in stainless barrel wear Smith & Wesson’s black Armornite (nitrided) finish. The slide includes front and rear serrations, scalloped front relief cuts, and an optics-ready cut with a cover plate marked "M4 THREADS." The cut accepts RMS-C pattern optics and Holosun 407/507K footprint options when the plate is removed.
The anodized aluminum-alloy frame keeps weight down and adds durability. Controls include ambidextrous slide stop/release levers, and a lanyard loop at the rear of the frame. Fixed dovetailed steel sights use a white-dot front and a square-notch rear for a straightforward sight picture.
Dimensions are approximately 6.1 in overall length, 4.6 in height, and 1.1 in width, with an unloaded weight of about 19.7 oz. Capacity is stated at 15+1.
