This Kel-Tec PLR-16 pairs a compact 9.2 in threaded barrel with a gas-operated long-stroke piston system in a lightweight polymer build. It accepts standard AR-15/M16 magazines and features an integral top Picatinny rail with a fixed front sight post. This example includes an aftermarket side-folding rear brace and an angled foregrip, plus two magazines.

The PLR-16 uses a gas-operated long-stroke piston with a rotating bolt and a recoil spring tube above the barrel. Controls include a right-side charging handle, a cross-bolt safety, and a right-side ejection port with bolt hold-open. It accepts AR-15/M16 (STANAG) magazines and is made in the USA.
The receiver/frame is glass-reinforced Zytel polymer with an aluminum insert for strength. A vented polymer handguard incorporates a fixed front sight post, and an integral MIL-STD-1913 top Picatinny rail provides a mounting surface for a rear sight or other compatible accessories.
The factory 9.2 in barrel includes a threaded muzzle in the common 1/2x28 pattern. This configuration supports easy use of compatible muzzle devices.
Customization on this example includes an aftermarket side-folding rear brace assembly and an angled foregrip, both installed. Unloaded weight is about 3.4 lb, and capacity is 30+1 with the included 30-round magazine; a 10-round magazine is also included.
