The FN Herstal TPS is a tactical 12 gauge pump built on the Winchester 1300-based rotary-bolt "speed pump" system and manufactured by U.S. Repeating Arms Co. in New Haven, CT. This example features an 18.5-inch ported barrel with a 3 inch chamber and an Improved Cylinder choke, a receiver-top full-length MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail, and M16A2-style iron sights. It is configured with a telescoping stock, AR-type pistol grip, and a compact 12.0 inch length of pull.

Built on the Winchester 1300-based rotary-bolt "speed pump" system, the TPS provides rapid, positive cycling in a tactical configuration. It has a 5+1 capacity and an 18.5 inch ported barrel set up with an Improved Cylinder choke. The chamber accepts both 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch 12 gauge shells.
The sighting system is M16A2-style. A receiver-top full-length MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail is installed for mounting compatible accessories along the top of the action.
Ergonomics are purpose-built: a telescoping, collapsible stock with rubber buttpad and a short 12.0 inch length of pull, plus an AR-type pistol grip and a ribbed synthetic forend for a secure grasp. A cross-bolt safety is positioned for straightforward operation, and a front sling stud is fitted at the magazine cap.
This TPS is barrel-marked "FN HERSTAL TACTICAL POLICE SHOTGUN — 12 GA. 2 3/4" & 3", MADE BY U.S. REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CT USA," reflecting its U.S. manufacture.
The buttplate is marked "U.S." with a flaming-bomb emblem. Production for this model falls within the 2003–2012 era.
