This LC9 is the original DAO configuration (not the LC9s), using an internal hammer and a single-strike double-action-only trigger system. Controls include a left-side magazine release, a manual thumb safety, and a magazine disconnect safety. The loaded-chamber indicator sits on top of the slide and is clearly marked "LOADED WHEN UP."
The pistol is purposefully slim and lightweight, measuring 6.00 inches in overall length, 4.50 inches in height, and just 0.90 inch in width. Unloaded weight is approximately 17.1 ounces. Capacity is 7+1 with its single-stack magazine. Sighting is handled by dovetailed three-dot iron sights, front and rear.
Construction pairs a blued alloy-steel slide and barrel with a durable glass-filled nylon grip frame supported by an aluminum chassis. The internal hammer is visible at the rear of the slide. The slide is marked "RUGER • PRESCOTT • AZ • USA."
