It retains the traditional two-stage trigger and a 20+1 capacity in .308 Win., delivering the classic M1A shooting characteristics in a well-executed, factory configuration.
The 22-inch GI-profile barrel is threaded and fitted with a GI-pattern slotted flash suppressor that incorporates a bayonet lug. The top of the barrel is marked "SA 10 12," indicating an October 2012 barrel date. The receiver heel is marked "US RIFLE M1A SPRINGFIELD ARMORY," and the metal shows a uniform parkerized finish.
Sighting is handled by a protected front post on the flash suppressor and an M14-pattern aperture rear sight with windage and elevation drums (non-hooded). Furniture consists of a walnut stock with straight comb and semi-pistol grip, complemented by a polymer upper handguard. Sling swivels and a rubber buttpad round out the stock features.
