Built in Belgium during the interwar period, this short rifle variant retains hallmark state-arsenal markings. The receiver ring reads "MANUFACTURE D'ARMES DE L'ETAT," and a Belgian proof appears ahead of the serial location on the barrel reinforce. The serial number itself is positioned on the right side of the barrel reinforce.
The rifle is configured around a forged steel, blued receiver with a manual safety and a fixed 5-round internal box magazine. It follows the Mauser platform and full-size form factor while adopting the 1889/36 short-rifle pattern.
Sighting equipment consists of iron sights: a front post protected by integral square ears, and a tangent-leaf rear sight with a sliding cursor and metric graduations. The 23.6 in barrel is paired with a distinctive cylindrical reinforce/jacket section ahead of the receiver. An under-barrel cleaning-rod channel is present; the rod is not installed.
The hardwood stock has a straight wrist, a stock disc, sling swivels, and a stacking hook; no upper handguard is present. Length of pull measures 13.0, and the metal surfaces carry a blued finish consistent with the receiver.
