This MPX Air belongs to SIG's Advanced Sport Pellet series and mirrors the MPX's controls and profile. The metal receiver and polymer furniture are finished in black, with a polymer handguard featuring vent slots and the early configuration without M-LOK. A full-length M1913 Picatinny top rail runs from receiver to handguard for mounting sights and optics.
Power is supplied by an 88/90 g CO2 cylinder housed in the fixed synthetic stock with buttpad. The action is semi-automatic CO2-powered with a manual safety and an approximate 7 lb trigger weight, delivering realistic handling for training or backyard sessions.
The 8 in rifled steel barrel and .177 caliber (4.5 mm) bore are set up for pellets, and manufacturer velocity claims for this model vary by production and conditions, generally around 450–575 fps. Flip-up front and rear iron sights are included for immediate use.
Feeding is through SIG's belt-fed RPM pellet magazine system with a 30-round capacity. The receiver is marked "MADE IN JAPAN," and this example includes a SIG AIR 1x20 mm mini red dot sight in its factory packaging for those who want to add an optic.
