The pistol retains its U.S.-made Springfield, Massachusetts markings, with the barrel hood marked ".45 AUTO" and the frame marked "MOD 4506."

The Model 4506 is built on S&W’s third-generation stainless steel platform, offering a full-size .45 ACP format with a 5-inch barrel and an 8+1 capacity. This example has the later rounded trigger guard, a feature commonly associated with subsequent engineering changes within the 4506 line.
Its DA/SA operation is paired with an ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker, an external spurred hammer, and an external extractor. Additional safety features include a firing pin block and a magazine disconnect safety.
Sighting is straightforward and durable with fixed low-mount sights: a pinned front blade with a white dot and a fixed rear. The one-piece wraparound black textured grip with an integral molded S&W logo provides a secure, consistent hold.
Markings include "MADE IN U.S.A. SPRINGFIELD, MASS." on the frame, ".45 AUTO" on the barrel hood, and "MOD 4506" on the frame. The absence of an integral accessory rail indicates this is not a TSW variant. An aftermarket trigger-guard-mounted laser is installed, and one 8-round steel single-column magazine is included.
