Made in Germany by Carl Walther, this M&P22 is marked "MADE IN GERMANY" and "CARL WALTHER ULM/DO" and bears German CIP proofmarks including the Ulm antler and the eagle over N nitro proof. The "DE" country code is present, and the "BD" date code corresponds to 2013 production.
The pistol uses a fixed-barrel blowback system chambered in .22 LR with an internal-hammer, single-action operating system. Safety features include an ambidextrous manual thumb safety and a hinged trigger safety, combined with the M&P-style hinged trigger design.
Construction pairs a polymer frame with an alloy slide and a steel barrel, all in a matte black finish. An integral Picatinny accessory rail with four cross-slots is molded into the dust cover. The 4-inch barrel keeps the pistol in a true full-size format with a 10+1 capacity.
Sights are a 3-dot setup with a fixed white dot front post and a screw-adjustable rear sight with white dots. The rear sight features a top-mounted adjustment screw for fine-tuning.
