The Apache 77 is a distinct Nylon 77 variant produced in the United States during the late 1980s specifically for K-Mart. Its bright green marbled Zytel-type stock and black diamond-shaped fore-end inlay set it apart visually within the Nylon family, and the model has strong appeal for collectors of period Remington .22s.
The rifle uses a blowback-operated, semi-automatic action chambered in .22 LR. The 19.5 inch steel barrel is marked .22 LONG RIFLE ONLY and the bore shows an excellent, mirror finish with sharp rifling, supporting precise performance with standard .22 LR loads.
Construction features include a blued finish, a stamped steel receiver cover over a polymer receiver structure, and a 13.75 inch length of pull. The stock incorporates molded checkering for grip and a black buttplate with horizontal serrations for shouldering consistency.
Sighting equipment consists of open sights with a ramped front blade and a drift-adjustable rear barrel sight with an elevator. The receiver cover has longitudinal tip-off grooves for 3/8-inch rings. The detachable magazine system uses curved 10-round magazines marked 77, and this rifle comes with three magazines.
