Browning BLR .308 Win, Belgian-Made 1970 Pre-81 Lever Action, 20 inch Barrel, Detachable Magazine, Iron Sights
This Belgian-production Browning BLR was manufactured in 1970 and represents the desirable pre-81 pattern in .308 Winchester. It features a 20 inch barrel, a detachable box magazine, and the BLR's rotating multi-lug bolt with rack-and-pinion lever system. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases with four holes, and the rifle retains classic walnut furniture with a barrel-band forend and a Browning-marked ventilated recoil pad.

What’s Included
- Browning BLR .308 Win lever-action rifle (Belgian-made, 1970)
- 1x 4-round detachable box magazine (pre-81 pattern)
This pre-81 BLR combines a lever-action, rotating-bolt design with a detachable box magazine, providing reliable feeding for .308 Winchester in a classic Browning package. The right-side ejection and drilled-and-tapped receiver (four holes) offer straightforward setup for scope bases if desired.
The walnut stock features a pistol-grip profile with checkering and sling swivels, paired with a barrel-band walnut forend for a cohesive early BLR look. A Browning-marked ventilated recoil pad with white-line spacer and a 13.75 inch length of pull round out the stock fit.
Sighting is fast and traditional with a ramped front sight capped by a brass bead and a folding rear barrel sight. The blued finish presents well, while the receiver shows heavy finish loss with the black anodize largely gone, now appearing silver/aluminum in-the-white, alongside the Belgian markings: "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY, MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL, P.Q. — MADE IN BELGIUM."
Mechanically, this BLR uses a rotating multi-lug bolt driven by a rack-and-pinion lever, with a trigger that moves with the lever. It has a folding/half-cock hammer with a half-cock safety position. Capacity is 4+1 with the included 4-round detachable magazine, and the barrel is marked with U.S. Patent No. 3,377,731.
