The P227R Nitron pairs a hard-coat anodized aluminum alloy frame with a Nitron-finished slide in a black finish throughout. It is part of the Classic P-Series and retains the familiar control layout, including an exposed spur hammer, push-button magazine release, and a decocking lever.
DA/SA, hammer-fired, locked-breech operation provides a traditional double-action first shot with single-action follow-ups. The one-piece, wrap-around textured polymer grip (E2-style) with SIG SAUER logo offers a secure, consistent interface.
SIGLITE tritium 3-dot night sights are dovetailed front and rear. The 4.4-inch barrel uses a 1:16 right-hand twist, and the bore presents a clean, mirror finish with sharp rifling.
An integral M1913 Picatinny accessory rail is machined into the dust cover for mounting compatible accessories. The double-column magazine design yields a 10+1 capacity in .45 ACP, with included steel magazines marked Made in Italy.
