The MR-22 Accelerator is a semi-automatic, blowback-operated rifle chambered in .22 WMR, part of Excel Arms' Accelerator family that also included the MR-5.7. Production is documented by at least 2010, and this model was notable for offering a semi-auto option in .22 WMR when such rifles were relatively uncommon.
Its 18-inch heavy-profile, fluted stainless barrel with a recessed crown is paired with a vented handguard. The black-and-stainless finish provides a purposeful, two-tone appearance with stainless where it matters most.
The black polymer thumbhole stock offers a 15.0-inch length of pull and a ribbed buttplate. Two sling swivel studs are installed. Controls include a right-side charging handle and a manual safety with a firing pin block; the safety lever is observed on the right side, though the manual describes the lever on the left. The manual also notes the rifle can fire with the magazine removed.
