What’s Included
- Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon Field 12 gauge over/under shotgun
The 680-series low-profile receiver is finished in coin/nickel and factory engraved with floral scroll, PB medallions, and detailed work on the top lever and trigger plate. Italian Gardone proof stamps are present, confirming its Italian manufacture. The receiver is alloy steel, and the action is a break-action over/under with a capacity of two rounds.
The 28 inch barrels are marked "P. Beretta – Gardone V.T. – Italy" and "Excelsior – High Strength Alloyed Steel" and carry a bore diameter stamp of 18.4 mm and a barrel weight of KG 1.520. They wear a high-polish blued finish and a matted anti-glare top rib with a single brass front bead. Matching assembly numbers are present on the forend iron and barrel set.
This shotgun uses fixed chokes that measured Improved Cylinder and Modified during inspection. Choke measurements taken with a gauge can vary, but this example gauged at IC and MOD. Chambers are cut for both 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells, and the ejectors are timed properly.
The stock set is checkered walnut with a pistol grip and a rounded field-style forend, finished with a black buttplate. Length of pull measures 14.5 inches, and there is slight right-hand cast off. Controls include a single gold-tone trigger and a tang safety with barrel selector for quick, intuitive operation.
