The MK114 MOD 2-M uses PWS's long-stroke gas piston with a 3-position adjustable gas system, paired with a mid-length layout. This setup is designed for consistent function and easy tuning across a range of conditions. The "MK114 MOD 2-M" designation is engraved on the rear of the PicLok handguard/trunnion block ahead of the receiver, and the barrel is externally rollmarked ".223 Wylde" above the ejection port.
The 14.5-inch barrel is made from 41V50 steel with a 1:8 RH twist and a threaded muzzle. A pronged flash hider is installed. The .223 Wylde chambering and 1:8 twist support a broad range of .22-caliber projectile weights while maintaining precision-focused rifling.
The receiver set is 7075-T651 aluminum with a hard-coat anodized black finish. The slick-side upper deletes the forward assist, and controls include an ambidextrous safety selector and a right-side ambidextrous bolt release. A QD sling end plate is installed for sling attachment.
The free-float PicLok hybrid handguard features M-LOK slots with Picatinny sections at 12 o'clock and a short un-railed bridge at the rear near the receiver (not a continuous top rail). This configuration offers broad mounting flexibility while keeping the barrel free-floated. Capacity is 30+1, and the platform is the MK1 series AR-15 from Primary Weapons Systems, Boise, ID, USA.
