Built on a steel IMBEL receiver and imported by Century Arms International, this L1A1 Sporter is marked "L1A1 Sporter Cal .308 CAI – St Alb Vt." The lower carries UB 60A… British markings, and the rifle shows a "960-0071" code with a proof/inspection arrow, reflecting its mixed metric/inch heritage within the FAL family.
The operating system is semiautomatic with a short-stroke gas piston. It includes an adjustable gas regulator and a tilting-bolt locking system. Controls include a non-reciprocating left-side charging handle and a folding carry handle.
The rifle is configured with a 21.7-inch barrel and a plain muzzle. Iron sights consist of an open-ear front sight post and a folding rear aperture, providing a traditional FAL sight picture.
Upgrades include a DSA railed receiver-cover scope mount and an aftermarket free-float aluminum handguard with a continuous 12 o'clock top rail. These components add stable, extended rail space across the top of the rifle.
The furniture is black synthetic with a fixed stock and a black pebble-textured pistol grip. Length of pull measures 14.75 inches. Chambered in .308 Win, the rifle ships with one extended-length 30-round magazine for a 30+1 capacity.
