Issued by America Remembers as a tribute to General George S. Patton, Jr. commemorating the 75th anniversary of World War II, this limited edition is one of 500. The display plaque reads "General George S. Patton, Jr.
Tribute – Issued by America Remembers – An Edition of 500," and a small edition plaque affixed to the right-side dustcover near the muzzle is numbered "136 of 500." The Colt factory case label carries the model code 01991AR and "Blue Finish," reflecting the original base gun as shipped by Colt; the commemorative tribute finish was applied after it left the factory. Issuer markings appear on the slide top.
The slide combines a matte gray base with mirror-polished decorative panels, multitone artwork, gold-tone inlays, GSP star monogram blocks, tank-track borders, and commemorative campaign and quote panels referencing North Africa, Sicily, the Battle of the Bulge, and the Crossing of the Rhine into Germany. Matching gold-tone external accents include the thumb safety, slide stop, grip safety, hammer, recoil spring plug, magazine release, and grip screws. At the muzzle, the visible gold-tone component is the recoil spring plug; the barrel bushing itself matches the matte gray slide.
Ivory-tone smooth grip panels carry a 'GSP' monogram, complementing the commemorative theme. Functional details remain practical, with rear vertical slide serrations and fixed iron sights featuring a white-dot front blade and a square-notch rear.
