The VP70Z retains the model's hallmark straight-blowback operation with a fixed 4.6 in steel barrel and unusually deep rifling. This configuration pairs with a DAO striker-fired trigger system and a cross-bolt safety, delivering the exact semiautomatic-only setup of the VP70Z (without the VP70M stock interface or selector).
Controls and capacity are distinct for the platform: a heel-type magazine release and steel, double-column magazines with an 18+1 capacity. Slide features include rear vertical serrations and an anti-glare rib to aid manipulation and aiming.
The sighting system is a fixed notch-and-blade set with high-contrast elements. The front sight is a fixed blade/post, and a fixed rear notch provides a 6.89 in sight radius.
