- One 10-round steel M14/M1A-pattern detachable box magazine
The M1A Standard Issue operates on a semi-automatic, gas-operated, short-stroke piston system true to the M14 platform. Chambered in .308 Win, it uses a 22 inch barrel for reliable velocity and accuracy potential, and accepts detachable M14/M1A-pattern box magazines with a stated capacity of 10+1.
The barrel is threaded and fitted with a cylindrical multiport muzzle brake featuring a rectangular side port. This factory muzzle device helps manage recoil and muzzle movement while maintaining the classic M14 profile.
Sighting is handled by robust M14-pattern iron sights: a wing-protected front post on the gas cylinder/front band and an adjustable rear aperture with windage and elevation drums. This setup offers a precise, repeatable sight picture.
The rifle wears a black synthetic, GI-profile fixed stock with molded checkering for grip, a rubber buttpad molded with the Springfield Armory crest, and integral sling swivels. A polymer handguard with transverse ribs complements the steel receiver, with the metal components finished in a Parkerized (manganese phosphate) dark gray/green and the furniture in black.
Collector-focused details include the receiver heel marked "US RIFLE M1A SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" and an operating rod bearing the 7790186-SA drawing number. It is manufactured by Springfield Armory, Inc., in Geneseo, Illinois, USA.
