The AUG A3 M2 configuration uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system paired with an adjustable gas regulator at the barrel base. This setup is designed for consistent cycling and easy tuning for conditions. The bullpup layout concentrates weight toward the shoulder and maintains a compact overall profile while retaining a full-length barrel.
The 16.4-inch barrel is cold-hammer-forged, chrome-lined, and built for quick changes. The square barrel release and locking catch are positioned forward of the trigger guard for fast removal and installation. The barrel features a 1:9 twist rate and is threaded, capped with an open-tine three-prong flash hider.
The tan polymer AUG stock housing integrates an angled pistol grip, a rubber buttpad, and a fixed rear sling loop. This example has a right-side ejection port with a left-side port cover. The integral vertical foregrip is part of the barrel assembly, providing a secure forward hold point.
Mounting options are extensive with a prominent full-length Picatinny top rail that overhangs the gas block, plus a short accessory rail at the 6 o'clock position. Receiver markings include AUG A3 M2 BESSEMER, AL and MULTI CAL S/N. The barrel block is marked 5.56×45 1:9 MADE IN USA, and the stock housing bears molded text STEYR ARMS GMBH and AUG/SA.
