The P229 is a compact, hammer-fired, DA/SA pistol with a short-recoil, locked-breech system. It follows the proven SIG control layout with a takedown lever, slide catch, and decocking lever, and it accepts 15+1 capacity double-stack magazines.
This example uses the classic non-railed legacy P229 frame made from aluminum alloy, paired with a stainless slide featuring an external extractor and rear serrations only. The rounded trigger guard and fine vertical serrations on the front strap provide the traditional P229 profile.
Sight alignment is handled by fixed 3-dot iron sights, with a dovetailed front blade and a dovetailed square-notch rear. The exposed spur hammer complements the DA/SA system for confident manipulation and decocking.
Markings include "SIGARMS INC. EXETER NH" and "MADE IN GERMANY," indicating a German-made frame with U.S. assembly in Exeter, NH; the slide bears typical U.S. "STAINLESS" markings and lacks German proof marks.
