The MCX-SPEAR LT uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston action paired with a two-position adjustable gas regulator for suppressed and unsuppressed settings. This system runs cleaner than direct-impingement designs and is tuned at the gas block for reliable operation.
Its MCX quick-change barrel system and free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard support modularity while maintaining barrel isolation for consistent performance. A continuous 12 o'clock Picatinny rail runs over the receiver and handguard for uninterrupted mounting space.
The folding, telescoping stock works with an internal recoil system, allowing the rifle to be fired with the stock folded. Fully ambidextrous controls include an ambidextrous safety and a right-side bolt catch/release, and the rifle uses a STANAG/AR-pattern magazine interface with a 30+1 capacity.
The 16 inch barrel is threaded 1/2-28 for common 5.56 muzzle devices. Folding polymer backup sights are included and installed. This USA-made model features aluminum receivers with a coyote/tan finish, a vertical foregrip, and an Ergo Grip with the original grip included.
