The M1A Scout Squad pairs the proven M14-type gas system with a gas-operated, short-stroke piston and rotating bolt, delivering reliable function in a handier 18-inch package. Chambered in .308 Win, it uses standard M1A/M14-pattern detachable box magazines and is rated for a 20+1 capacity.
Sighting is handled by GI-style iron sights: a protected front blade on the gas lock and an aperture rear with windage and elevation knobs. A barrel-mounted forward Picatinny scout rail sits within a relieved polymer top handguard for mounting forward-positioned accessories. A perforated tubular muzzle brake caps the barrel.
Construction is centered around a steel receiver with a Parkerized finish, set into a black composite stock with a fixed, textured grip surface. The rifle uses a 1:11 twist rate and a 14.0-inch length of pull.
Markings include a receiver heel marked "US RIFLE M1A SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" and a barrel stamped ".308" forward of the gas cylinder. The package is rounded out with five 20-round steel magazines, a clamp-on bipod, and a nylon web sling.
