The X95 represents IWI US’s next-generation bullpup, bringing practical control updates and improved ergonomics. Upgrades over the original Tavor SAR include a refined 5–6 lb fire control pack, an ambidextrous magazine release moved to the AR-15 position, a charging handle shifted closer to the center mass, a modular Tavor-style grip that can be switched to a standard version with a traditional guard, and a more compact bolt release button.
This factory SBR configuration uses a 13-inch cold hammer forged, chrome-lined CrMoV barrel with 1:7 rifling (6 grooves, right-hand) and a threaded muzzle fitted with an A2-type birdcage flash hider. The rifle operates via a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston system with a closed rotating bolt.
Ambidextrous features are built in: ejection can be configured to either side and is currently set for right-side ejection with the left cover plate installed. The non-reciprocating charging handle is installed on the left and is relocatable. Controls include an AR-style push-button magazine release, a manual safety selector, and the compact X95 bolt release. Length of pull is approximately 14.25 inches. The rifle uses the NATO STANAG magazine interface and has a 30+1 capacity.
The reinforced polymer frame and stock are finished in black, with a vented polymer handguard that incorporates covered accessory rail positions at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock plus a molded handstop. A full-length numbered Picatinny top rail provides mounting real estate, and the rifle includes integral folding iron sights with a flip-up tritium front blade and a flip-up rear aperture. Rollmarks include the IWI US – Middletown, PA marking and the IWI round logo. Unloaded weight is approximately 7.5–8.0 lb, and overall length is about 22.8 inches.
