Made in Italy by Armi San Marco, this reproduction follows the classic 1860 Army pattern with an open-top brass frame and an 8 inch round steel barrel. The single-action percussion system is set up for .44 caliber with a six-shot capacity.
The rebated, unfluted steel cylinder carries the factory Ormsby-pattern naval battle scene with the period legend "ENGAGED 16 MAY 1843," a hallmark detail of the 1860 design. Fixed sights include a front blade and a hammer notch rear.
Materials and finishes include a brass frame and grip frame, a blued steel cylinder, and varnished walnut grips. The configuration also features the correct creeping loading lever.
Proof and import markings are clear: Italian Gardone V.T. proofs with date code AZ (1990), PN black-powder proof, and ARMSPORT INC. MIAMI importer stamp. Matching serial numbers were observed on the frame and the grip frame/butt, supporting component originality within this example.
