The 6 Unica operates as a recoil-driven, self-cocking revolver: the reciprocating upper assembly cocks the hammer and indexes the cylinder under recoil. This system, combined with the barrel’s alignment to the 6 o’clock chamber, delivers a notably low bore axis intended to curb muzzle flip in .44 Remington Magnum.
The 5-inch steel barrel is paired with a removable multi-ported muzzle brake and a ventilated shroud; the brake presents a matte/brushed appearance against the mirror-polished upper and frame. The barrel block includes tapped holes designed for factory weights or attachments, and a dedicated thread protector is included in the case.
Construction is all steel with a bright-polished finish on the frame and upper assembly. The revolver uses a swing-out, unfluted six-shot cylinder and is fitted with a single-piece wooden target grip (monogrip) featuring checkering for a secure, deliberate hold.
Target-focused sighting comes from an adjustable rear sight and a replaceable front post on the rib. These sights complement the autorevolver’s recoil system and low-bore-axis layout for precise adjustment and sight clarity.
Authentic markings include Italian proof stamps, CAT. 12067, and importer stamp AAI NKC MO (American Arms, Inc., North Kansas City, MO). This full-size example reflects the distinctive Italian engineering of the 1990s–early 2000s production period.
