Chambered in .22 WMR, this Model 9422M feeds from a tubular magazine with a removable inner tube and offers an 11+1 capacity. It uses right-side ejection and a standard lever loop, and it is secured by two barrel bands for the classic small-bore Winchester lever-gun profile.
The 20.5 in barrel is Winchester Proof Steel and carries the correct barrel rollmark: 'WINCHESTER MODEL 9422M .22 WIN. MAGNUM — MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. — WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL'. Sighting is straightforward and reliable with a hooded front blade and an elevator-adjustable rear leaf.
The rifle wears plain, straight-grip American walnut furniture, uncheckered, with a matching forend. A checkered metal buttplate with the Winchester Repeating Arms crest completes the stock set. Length of pull is 14.0 inches, and the overall configuration is full-size with a blued receiver and barrel.
The lever action uses an external hammer with a traditional half-cock safety. The serial number is stamped on both the receiver and the trigger-plate. This example was manufactured in New Haven, Connecticut, United States.
