The Model 66-1 Combat Magnum pairs a stainless K-Frame with a 2.5-inch barrel and a six-shot fluted cylinder, delivering a compact .357 Magnum package from the 1980 production year. This example comes from the pinned-barrel era preceding the 1982 change.
Barrel and frame details include a pinned barrel, an ejector-rod shroud, and a serrated top rib, all finished in brushed stainless steel. It is chambered in .357 Magnum and also accepts .38 Special ammunition. The short 2.5-inch configuration is historically associated with concealment and plainclothes carry traditions.
The action is double-action/single-action with a smooth-faced trigger and an exposed hammer featuring a checkered spur. Sights include a micrometer-click adjustable rear and an integral ramped front sight with a red/orange insert for a clear sight picture.
Upgraded with an aftermarket gray/black laminated finger-groove monogrip, this revolver also includes the original S&W checkered walnut service stocks with medallions (loose/OEM), offering both an installed modern grip and a factory stock option.
