The XD(M)-9 4.5 is a full-size, striker-fired, semi-automatic 9mm built on a black polymer frame. It features a MATCH-marked 4.5-inch barrel, 19+1 capacity, and an accessory rail for mounting lights or similar equipment. The ambidextrous magazine release supports left- or right-handed use.
Controls and sighting elements are practical and easy to run. The slide has front and rear serrations, including chevron serrations, for confident manipulation. Dovetailed 3-dot iron sights include a white front dot and two white rear dots for a clear sight picture.
Safety features include a grip safety, a trigger safety blade, and a loaded-chamber indicator. Proof and import markings read "MADE IN CROATIA, SPRINGFIELD INC. GENESEO IL," and the slide, barrel hood, and frame insert bear matching serial numbers.
A Springfield-branded OEM hard case is provided. It is not original to this pistol and was originally for a different model with a different serial number; however, it has been fitted for this XD(M)-9. One 19-round steel double-stack magazine with numbered witness holes and a lock are also included.
