This first-generation M&P 9 Shield (SKU 180021) is a slim, micro-size 9mm with a 3.125-inch stainless, Melonite-treated barrel and a black Melonite slide. It features a manual thumb safety, a left-side magazine release, and steel 3-dot sights with a drift-adjustable rear. Made in the USA and capable of firing with the magazine removed, this example is in excellent overall condition and comes with four factory single-stack magazines.

This M&P 9 Shield is the first-generation configuration with a manual thumb safety, designated by SKU 180021. It retains the series’ slim, single-stack profile and includes factory magazines with numbered witness holes to 7 and 8 rounds.
The barrel is stainless steel with a Melonite treatment, paired to a black Melonite slide. The slide carries rear serrations in a fish-scale pattern for confident manipulation, and the frame is polymer with a molded texture for secure purchase.
It is striker-fired with a left-side magazine release and includes both a manual thumb safety and a trigger safety. Per the factory configuration noted, it is capable of firing with the magazine removed (no magazine disconnect).
Sight setup is a steel 3-dot system with a drift-adjustable rear notch and a steel front post with a white dot. Additional factory details include the serial number plate with a 2D code. Capacity is 8+1 with the included 8-round magazines; a 7-round magazine is also included.
