WWII 1943 Inland Mfg M1 Carbine .30 Carbine, 18 inch Barrel, Type I Barrel Band, Adjustable Rear Sight
Manufactured in 1943 during WWII, this Inland Mfg M1 Carbine combines early and arsenal-upgrade features that define many U.S.-serviced carbines. The receiver is marked "U.S. CARBINE CAL. .30 M1." It has the early narrow Type I barrel band without bayonet lug and with an integral sling loop, later adjustable rear sight with windage knob, a round bolt, and a manual safety. The hardwood low-wood stock with an oval sling/oiler cut and two-rivet handguard are complemented by a checkered steel buttplate.

Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Overall Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: Widespread rust and pitting are present on metal surfaces. The finish shows broad wear and patina. Scratches and blemishes appear throughout. The wood stock shows numerous scratches and lacks a finish. The bore remains shiny with defined rifling; however, the rifling shows blemishes.

Built by Inland Mfg in the United States in 1943, this M1 Carbine is a WWII-era semi-automatic that uses a gas-operated short-stroke piston with a rotating bolt. The receiver bears the U.S. military marking "U.S. CARBINE CAL. .30 M1."
The carbine retains the early narrow Type I barrel band without a bayonet lug and with an integral sling loop, paired with an 18 inch barrel. It carries iron sights with a fixed-blade front sight protected by ears.
Later arsenal-upgrade features are present, including an adjustable sliding aperture rear sight with windage knob (range scale to 3), a round bolt, and a manual safety.
The hardwood furniture consists of a low-wood stock with an oval sling/oiler cut and a two-rivet top handguard. The stock is a replacement marked NPM and stamped with the Ordnance wheel, and it is finished with a checkered steel buttplate. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches.
Capacity is 5+1, and this carbine includes one 5-round magazine.
