Izhmash Saiga .223 Rem Semi-Auto Rifle, 16.3 in Barrel, Black Polymer Sporter, Russian-Made, 3x 10-Round Mags
This Izhmash Saiga in .223 Rem is a Russian-made, unconverted sporter configuration with factory markings and features that reflect its import-era build. It uses a long-stroke gas-piston action, has a stamped-steel slab-side receiver without magwell dimples, and retains the AKM/AK-100 style ribbed top cover. A 16.3-inch barrel with a plain crown, iron sights, and three factory .223 magazines round out a straightforward, reliable package. U.S. imports of Saiga rifles ended in 2014 due to sanctions, adding context to its availability.

The rifle is in its original import sporter layout with the fire-control group in the rear position. It features a stamped-steel slab-side receiver without magwell dimples, an AKM/AK-100 style ribbed top cover, a paddle-style magazine release, a manual safety, and a manual bolt-hold-open tab ahead of the trigger guard.
The 16.3-inch barrel has a plain crown with no muzzle device. Sighting is via practical iron sights: a protected post up front and a tangent leaf rear. The black finish and minimalist setup emphasize reliability and simplicity.
Furniture consists of a black polymer Monte Carlo stock with a rear sling swivel and a matching polymer fore-end. The length of pull measures 12.0 inches. A Limbsaver slip-on recoil pad is installed in place of the original buttpad.
Factory markings include the Izhmash arrow-in-triangle logo, "MADE IN RUSSIA BY IZHMASH," "SAIGA 223Rem," "САЙГА," and a selector position marked "S." Chambered in .223 Rem with a 10+1 capacity, this example also includes three Izhmash factory polymer .223 magazines. U.S. imports ceased in 2014, which helps define the model’s production and import timeline.
