The M&P 9L long-slide format pairs a 5-inch stainless steel barrel with a matching stainless slide, both finished in black. Performance Center porting on the barrel and slide works to direct gas upward, and the lightening/vent ports in the slide contribute to fast cycling.
The C.O.R.E. optics-ready interface is factory cut into the slide and comes with a cover plate and adapter plates with screws. Tall sights, with a drift-adjustable rear, are configured to clear mounted optics for a clean sight picture.
The striker-fired action benefits from a Performance Center tuned sear/trigger and a hinged trigger shoe. The full-size polymer frame includes interchangeable backstraps/palm-swells for fit and an accessory rail for mounting compatible lights or lasers.
Capacity is 16+1, and this example includes four steel magazines: two 16-round and two 10-round. The right side of the frame/slide is marked with the factory caution, "CAUTION—CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED."
