The Model 50 uses a fixed barrel paired with Winchester’s short-recoil, reciprocating floating chamber system. This design is identifiable by the right-side ejection port and right-side charging handle, as noted on this example.
The 28" steel barrel is plain (non-ribbed) and fitted with a Modified choke. It is chambered for 2 3/4" shells and carries a single front bead for a straightforward sight picture.
Construction and finish include a high-polish blued steel receiver and barrel. The stock and forearm are walnut with bordered cut checkering, and the length of pull measures 14.5". A slip-on recoil pad is installed.
Markings include "TRADE MARK — MADE IN U.S.A." and "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL." The barrel legend reads "MODEL 50 — 12 GA — 2 3/4 CHAM. — WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL — MOD." Capacity is 2+1. Made in the United States.
