The ZPAPM70 retains the proven AK operating system with a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston and a rotating bolt. It uses a stamped-steel receiver with a standard AK-pattern top cover and a paddle-style magazine release. Country of origin is Serbia, with import markings reading "ZASTAVA ARMS USA DES PLAINES, IL" and "ZASTAVA ARMS MADE IN SERBIA."
The 16.3-inch barrel is threaded at the muzzle and currently has a device installed. Chambered in 7.62x39, the rifle is configured for a 30+1 capacity with standard AK-pattern magazines.
Wood furniture includes a fixed buttstock with a 12.5-inch length of pull, a wood pistol grip, and a two-piece wood handguard featuring three elongated slots per side on the lower. A rear sling swivel is positioned at the toe of the buttstock, and the AK-pattern cleaning rod is mounted under the barrel.
Sights are the traditional AK setup: an adjustable tangent rear matched with a hooded post front. English selector markings read SAFE/FIRE. Matching serial numbers are observed on the receiver and bolt carrier, and the bore presents a clean, mirror finish with sharp rifling.
