The Hawkeye action uses controlled-round feed with a non-rotating external claw extractor and a fixed blade ejector for reliable cycling. A 90-degree bolt lift provides familiar operation, and the internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate offers a 3+1 capacity.
The receiver has integral scope bases machined in, and this rifle includes factory Ruger M77/Hawkeye 1-inch rings for straightforward optic mounting. There are no iron sights.
The 22-inch sporter barrel and steel receiver wear a polished blued finish. The muzzle is unthreaded, maintaining a classic profile consistent with the Hawkeye Standard configuration. The bottom metal is two-tone: the hinged floorplate is silver/brushed in the white with the Ruger logo, while the trigger guard bow is dark/blued.
The American walnut stock features cut checkering, a steel grip cap with a Ruger medallion, and an orange Ruger recoil pad with a black spacer. Sling swivel studs are installed, and the length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
Built in the USA, this Hawkeye pairs the LC6 trigger with a three-position safety, delivering a modern production example of Ruger’s time-tested bolt-action design in a versatile .270 Winchester chambering.
