To face the challenges of cycling rimmed cartridges in a semi-auto platform, the rounds are staggered in the magazine. Capacity is 7+1, and the chamber is marked ".357 MAG" and visible through the ejection port.
The pistol uses an all-stainless construction with brushed flats and bead-blasted rounds for a clean, functional finish. It has rear-only vertical slide serrations and a 5-inch stainless barrel with a heavy muzzle profile. The slide is factory marked "Coonan .357 Magnum Automatic."
Sights and controls follow a 1911-pattern layout. An adjustable Kensight rear pairs with a plain black, dovetailed/pinned front blade.
