The NOX 9 employs a 5-inch, integrally compensated and ported barrel/slide system to manage recoil and muzzle movement. Both the slide and barrel are billet 416 stainless steel; the slide has a black DLC finish, while the barrel has a copper/bronze-toned finish, complemented by copper/bronze-toned control accents.
Its foundation is a DLC-finished 4140 steel frame mated to a 7075 aluminum grip module with a hex/diamond-pattern texture. The full-length dustcover integrates a Picatinny accessory rail, and the slide features forward and rear serrations, lightening/vent and window cuts, and a squared muzzle.
This is a semi-automatic, single-action-only, hammer-fired pistol with a 2011 platform layout. Controls include ambidextrous thumb safeties and a beavertail grip safety. The flat-faced, serrated trigger with a lightening slot uses Jacob Grey's Controlled Radius Trigger (CRT) profile.
An RMR-only factory interface anchors the included Trijicon RMR Type 2 (RM06) red dot with a red reticle. A front post is retained, and no rear sight is installed. Capacity is 17+1, supported by an enlarged, flared magwell for fast reloads. The slide is marked "NOX 9," with top markings "JACOB GREY PROSPERITY, SC" and "9-MM."
