The forged aluminum receivers wear a hard-coat anodized black finish and are joined by Daniel Defense’s proprietary four-bolt upper/handguard/barrel interface that eliminates a conventional barrel nut. The free-float DD MFR/SLiM-type KeyMod handguard provides ample attachment real estate and integrates a continuous top Picatinny rail. As a DD5V1-style configuration, it uses the KeyMod pattern.
The 16-inch barrel is chrome-moly-vanadium (CMV) steel, cold hammer-forged, and chrome-lined with an S2W profile. It is threaded 5/8x24 and paired with a mid-length gas system. The twist rate is 1:11, supporting a wide range of 7.62x51mm/7.62 NATO loads.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the safety selector and magazine release. The rifle is equipped with a Geissele SSA two-stage trigger. The ambidextrous, latchless charging handle uses ball-detent retention and user-configurable ear extensions, and bears the Daniel Defense monogram.
The nickel-boron coated bolt carrier group includes dual ejectors. Furniture consists of a collapsible, glass-infused polymer stock with soft-touch overmolding, interchangeable buttpads, and textured panels, paired with a Daniel Defense overmolded pistol grip. Capacity is 25+1 with the included magazine. Made in the United States.
