The Model 19-5 is part of Smith & Wesson’s Combat Magnum line and is built on the proven K-frame. This example retains its classic six-shot fluted cylinder and DA/SA action in .357 Magnum, paired with the desirable 2.5-inch snub-nose barrel for a compact profile. It was made in the USA in 1986.
Construction is carbon steel with a polished blue finish on the frame and receiver. The barrel assembly features a partial underlug with an ejector-rod shroud and a serrated top rib. The barrel has been Magna-Ported. Controls include a textured cylinder latch and a knurled ejector-rod tip.
Sighting equipment consists of a ramped front sight with a white insert and a micrometer-adjustable rear sight. The hammer and smooth-face trigger are color case-hardened, consistent with 19-5 features. The frame cut/crane recess is marked “MOD. 19-5,” and the yoke carries assembly number 59993, with standard S&W factory markings: S&W crest/logo and “MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS.”
