Built on an AK-derived platform, the Catamount Fury I uses a rotating bolt and long-stroke gas operation with the familiar rock-and-lock magazine insertion. A two-position adjustable gas regulator helps tune cycling for different 12-gauge loads. It is chambered for 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells, with receiver markings noting "12 GA. 2 3/4" AND 3" LEAD SHOT ONLY."
The shotgun features a 20.125 in barrel with a threaded, interchangeable choke system. A removable choke tube is currently installed, and the threaded muzzle allows straightforward choke changes to suit intended use.
Mounting real estate is built in, with a receiver-top Picatinny rail that spans the dust cover and a short accessory rail under the forward handguard/gas block. The right-side charging handle and right-side safety/selector lever follow the AK pattern for intuitive manipulation.
Furniture includes a fixed Monte Carlo-style polymer stock with a ventilated recoil pad, molded grip checkering, and a rear sling swivel stud. The lower handguard is polymer with elongated vents, paired with a smooth upper handguard. Overall length is 42.5 inches, weight is 8.7 lb, and length of pull is 14.0 in.
