The Thunder 9 here is the earlier non-Pro pattern without an accessory rail, a configuration many buyers prefer for its clean dustcover profile. It retains the aluminum-alloy frame with a steel slide and barrel, giving a solid service-pistol build with manageable weight.
Controls are duty-oriented: DA/SA, hammer-fired operation with an ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker and a firing pin block. The magazine release is left-side, and the hammer is a ring-style spur with a lightening hole. The slide uses rear cocking serrations only and an external extractor.
Sighting equipment includes a front blade with a white dot and a rear sight assembly set in a dovetail. The barrel is a linkless, tilting design within a recoil-operated, locked-breech system. Capacity is 17+1 using the included steel double-stack magazine.
