The Maxim Defense PDX in 7.62x39 delivers a compact, AR-pattern PDW package built around a 5.5 in barrel and the Maxim HATEBRAKE muzzle booster. It features ambidextrous controls, a SCW two-rod telescoping brace, and a continuous Picatinny top rail. Billet 7075-T6 receivers and a 6061 free-float handguard are finished in Arid tan Type III hard-coat anodize. This variant includes an enhanced firing pin for hard-primer 7.62x39 ammunition and ships with 30- and 20-round metal magazines.

Engineered as a PDW, the PDX uses a direct-impingement system and a 5.5 in barrel paired with the Maxim HATEBRAKE muzzle booster tucked under the handguard. The 7.62x39 chambering is supported by an enhanced firing pin for reliable ignition with hard-primer ammo, and capacity is 30+1.
The upper and lower receivers are billet 7075-T6 aluminum with an Arid tan Type III hard-coat anodized finish. A free-float, slotted 6061 aluminum handguard with a fixed forward hand stop and a continuous Picatinny top rail provide a rigid, compact front end. An enlarged shell deflector and a forward assist are included.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the safety selector, charging handle, and magazine release. The SCW two-rod telescoping brace features a locking lever/latch release at the rear of the receiver extension and a rear strap, contributing to a collapsed overall length of about 18.75 in and a weight of about 5 lb 11 oz. A Reptilia polymer grip rounds out the ergonomics.
Finished in Arid tan (FDE) across the receivers and brace, this PDX is marked St. Cloud, MN, USA. The threaded barrel and muzzle booster configuration are optimized for compact performance in the PDW role.
