What’s Included
- Original box
Built on the steel I-frame, this pre-model .22/32 Kit Gun delivers the classic small-frame S&W format with a six-shot .22 LR cylinder and DA/SA operation. Its 4-inch barrel length strikes a balanced profile for the series, and 1954 production places it firmly in the early Model of 1953 period before S&W assigned model numbers.
The barrel wears a serrated rib with a ramped, pinned front sight paired to an adjustable rear sight. These period-correct features, combined with the 4-inch length, provide a sighting setup typical of the Model of 1953 configuration.
Finish and controls include a blued frame and cylinder with a color-casehardened hammer and trigger. The revolver retains the flat early-style cylinder release latch, a six-flute cylinder, and the exposed ejector rod with a smooth, rounded (mushroom) tip that locks into the front plunger, with knurling on the collar just behind the tip—hallmarks of this vintage.
Grip configuration is the round-butt style fitted with checkered walnut Magna grips featuring S&W medallions and the desirable diamond pattern. This setup reflects the factory-correct trim of the era.
Factory rollmarks include the left barrel legend "SMITH & WESSON" and the right barrel legend ".22 LONG RIFLE CTG." The right frame is stamped "MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS." Origin is the United States.
