The 4.0C configuration pairs a 4 in non-threaded barrel with a full-size grip for a balanced carry and duty profile. The barrel is hammer-forged and Melonite-treated, and it is marked 9x19. The pistol operates via a short-recoil, striker-fired action.
Springfield's Variable Interface System (VIS) provides a direct-mount, optics-ready slide that supports multiple MRDS footprints. The included VIS mounting accessories allow you to configure the slide for compatible optics as desired.
Ergonomics are anchored by the polymer frame with Adaptive Grip Texture and two additional interchangeable backstraps. Fully ambidextrous controls include the slide stop and magazine release. Sighting is handled by U-Dot sights with a tritium/luminescent front dot and a plain U-notch tactical rack rear.
Construction details include a Melonite finish, a removable serialized Central Operating Group (COG) stainless-steel chassis, and an integral 3-slot Picatinny/1913 accessory rail. The slide carries the Springfield Armory crest, and the frame is marked HS PRODUKT • MADE IN CROATIA. The slide and barrel are numbered BK503809; the serialized COG/frame plate is BK502088 (non-matching). Capacity is up to 19+1 with the included magazines.
