What’s Included
- Browning Model 1885 BPCR High Wall .45-70 Govt. single-shot rifle
- Tang-mounted vernier rear sight with micrometer windage/elevation
- Globe front sight with spirit level
The BPCR High Wall pairs Browning's classic single-shot design with period-correct competition features. Its high-wall falling-block action with external hammer provides the traditional operation collectors and BPCR shooters expect, while the chambering in .45-70 Govt. aligns with black powder cartridge use.
The 30-inch heavy barrel uses a half-octagon to round profile that adds rigidity and balance. The top flat is drilled and tapped with two holes, and the barrel is factory-marked "RECOMMENDED FOR BLACK POWDER." Capacity is one round.
Precision iron sights are set up for fine adjustments: a tang-mounted vernier rear with micrometer windage and elevation, paired with a globe front sight that incorporates a spirit level. This setup supports precise alignment and repeatable sight settings.
Fit and finish are classic Browning. Receiver, lever/trigger guard, and steel shotgun buttplate are color case-hardened; barrel and most remaining small parts are blued. The walnut stock includes a pistol grip, right-side cheekpiece, cut checkering, and a steel shotgun-style buttplate. A gold Browning Buckmark inlay appears on the lower tang. Length of pull is 13.75 inches.
Markings include "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q., MADE IN JAPAN," with production attributed to Miroku per Browning support literature.
